License My Dog
The City of Strafford requires by ordinance (205.050) anyone keeping a dog within the City Limits, which is over the age of six months, to secure and display on a collar worn on the dog's neck, an annual license issued by the City of Strafford.
At the time of licensing, we require a rabies certificate from your veterinarian. This can be attached, faxed to 417-736-2390, emailed to dclerk@straffordmo.net or mailed to City of Strafford, PO Box 66, Strafford, MO 65757. Dog licenses are $5.00 for spayed or neutered dogs and $10.00 for non-spayed or un-neutered dogs. Licenses are valid from Jan 1st thru Dec 31st. After we receive the rabies certificate and payment, we will issue a Dog License. Dogs must be in reasonable control of the owner at all times. A citation can be issued if your dog is not controlled by a leash outside the owner's property. Dogs that are found without a license tag on their collar will be held at the City's kennel facility. Adopt A Dog From The Pound
The Strafford Police department will pick up a dog at large and take it to the impound.
To view dogs that have been picked up, call Diane at 417-736-2154 to make an appointment.
If you would like to adopt a dog that has been picked up and not been claimed, please contact Diane.
Dogs can be adopted after they have been impounded for 5 days - including a weekend. They will receive their rabies shot prior to being allowed to leave.
Adoption fee $65.00
Rabies vaccination $45.00.
Dog License $5.00 (spayed or neutered) $10.00 (un-spayed or un-neutered) Required if you live within the city limits of Strafford.

Apply for a Building Permit
Building Permits are required prior to performing construction projects on commercial and residential properties. Examples of projects requiring a permit are:
• Roofing or roofing replacement
• New construction
• Electrical / Mechanical replacement / upgrades
• Additions
• Some interior remodeling
• Storage buildings
Permits are issued after the project has been reviewed. Commercial projects require drawings to be submitted that have been prepared by a licensed engineer. Once a project has been reviewed, a price can be quoted and a permit issued.
Once a permit has been issued, you will be required to obtain certain inspections during the project and upon completion.
The City of Strafford has adopted the International Building Codes. Please contact the City of review requirements.

Rent A Park Pavilion
Pavilion rental is $20.00 per time slot. Times available are 11:45 am to 2:45 pm, 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday and Monday. 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, 3:15 to 7:15 pm Tuesday-Saturday. Pavilion availability is first come first serve and will be place on calendar after payment has been received. There are two pavilions available at the Howard Smith Park, the large one has six (6) tables and the small one has two (2) tables. The large pavilion is closest to the splash pad. There is one pavilion at Croxdale Community Park with two tables. There is a water fountain and restroom at both parks. Please contact City Hall at 417-736-2154 for pavilion rental availability.

Get A Garage Sale Permit Application
Residents are allowed 2 garage sales yearly, they do require a permit but there is no fee. Click here to be redirected to fill out and submit a garage sale permit. Or Click here to print out the permit application and either bring to City Hall at 126 S Washington, Strafford, MO, fax to 417-736-2390, or mail to PO Box 66, Strafford, MO 65757. After your application has been received and approved we will issue the permit. Strafford also hosts a yearly city wide garage sale that does not require a permit. Open Burning Permit
The City of Strafford does not have an ordinance against open burning but you are required to contact the Strafford Protection District prior to burning anything.

If you would like to report a street light outage, call City Hall at 417-736-2154, please note the closest house address or street crossing and give a directional (N,E,W,S) placement of the pole to the street.
If there is a dog at large or a dangerous dog at large, contact the Strafford Police Department at 417-736-4000. If they do not answer, call 911 and state that you have a non-emergency and an officer will be dispatched.
