The City of Strafford, Missouri, located a few miles northeast of Springfield (between Springfield and Marshfield on I-44), is seeking qualified applicants for the position of City Administrator.  Strafford is a growing fourth class city with a population of 2,358.  Starting salary will be in the $60,000 - $80,000 range (DOQ) plus benefits. The general government consists of a Mayor and six-member Board of Aldermen. Candidates will be expected to have a strong background in municipal operations, particularly financial management, capital project management and economic development. The City Administrator manages and oversees all operations of the City. Coordinates closely with each department head; oversees the implementation of all long range and/or strategic planning activities for the City; oversees preparation and implementation of the City’s $2.9 million budget; acts as spokesperson for the City, handling all public relations for the City including media and citizen relationships; and oversees all economic development activities of the city promoting the city to future developers including business, industrial and residential. The person in this position must have a bachelor’s degree in management, public administration or a related field. At least four years of general management or city management experience is required for this position.
